Another great review for Practice Makes Perfect and an announcement!

Fellow DSP author S. A. Garcia (Divine Devine’s Long Song) and I will be hosting a live chat at the Dreamspinner Goodreads site this Saturday from 12-6 pm EST. There we’ll discuss our new releases, our past stories, our WIPs and more! In fact, I’m pretty much open to discussing anything you’d like to talk about, though I have made a personal request for no zombies. They scare the piss out of me. :-)

You do have to be a member of the group to participate, but membership is free and easy to do. These chats just seem to work better on this site–easier to keep up with conversational threads and respond to specific people for one, email reminders (if you desire) when someone adds a comment to the list, etc. Not to mention, Facebook deleted the DSP account without warning, so they had to find another venue!

In other news, I came across another very nice review for Practice Makes Perfect the other day (and am only getting around to posting it now). I’m very glad to know there are people out there who’d like to know more about these characters! I’m toying with the idea of doing some free shorts as prologue and background pieces–I’ve never tried my hand at sustained UST, which I think would be fun to give it a whirl!

  1. Unless I get dragged off to God-knows-where again this Saturday, I will be there! I love chats on Goodreads. I promise to remember not to mention any zombies, hehe. :D

I’m around a third of way through and oh my. I love Rhys and his very sarcastic and snarky attitude. ♥

    • Yay! And thank you–I really do get creeped out by zombies (I blame it on my older sister pretending to be one and chasing me around the house when I was at a tender age) and the current trend in fiction and television has me shuddering and looking away whenever they crop up.

Oh, I’m so glad you are enjoying Rhys! He was so much fun to write! I’ve been thinking I need to do more–maybe a prologue from Jim’s POV–all UST? :-)

      • I think I prefer zombies over ghosts. Zombies, at least, don’t appear and disappear suddenly. I hate getting surprised by sudden apparitions. At least, I think I can outrun a zombie. LOL.

Yes, please do! Write more Jim and Rhys! I am so so so fascinated with the world in Practice Makes Perfect and in a way I’m frustrated with the in media res approach but oh hell I forgive you anyway because Jim and Rhys are awesome. :)

One day, I will also steal Grylis from them. Hehe. *evil grin*

        • No! Give me ghosts any day! Usually if you can figure out what a ghost wants and appease them–zombies want your brains!

Everyone seems to love Grylis! I think he needs his own series! :-)

          • He does! And you write some awesome secondary characters so people can’t help but like them! Look at me, I’m still stuck on Peter. ;)

    • I do think a kind of prologue-how-Nick-and-Peter-met story is in order. Man, I could really use Herminone’s Time Spinner device from the Prisoner of Azkaban. :-) I have all these ideas and so little time!

  2. I’m being dragged to brunch and errands. Le sigh. This always seems to happen whenever there’s a chat going on in Goodreads (which is, incidentally, every Saturday). I’ll probably be back by 3 P.M. unless I get abducted by aliens or I get dragged into more stuff. So yeah, I’ll be there, but I wanted to be there for the whole chat. :(

      • I’m sure they will! I think they’re pretty good about that if there are any scheduling conflicts and whatnot. The last time the authors had trouble because of arrangements, they postponed chats until the next week. :)

Hope you conquered the pigweed! :D

        • I don’t know — the pigweed may have conquered me! I can barely move this morning and just gripping the steering wheel for the drive into work was challenging. You can bet this is going to show up in a story somewhere though! :-)
