A contract, a review, and some excellent writing advice…

Pop A CorkIt’s been a banner day here at Chez Madison today!

Last night, I signed a contract with Dreamspinner Press to publish Walk A Mile, the first of two planned sequels to Unspeakable Words! Estimated release date sometime in Sept-Oct 2014! I can’t tell you how delighted I am–I’d been dragging my feet working on the second sequel (tentatively titled Truth and Consequences) while I held my breath waiting to hear back from Dreamspinner. But yay, all is well, contract has been signed and returned, and today I feel as though I could tackle such problems as world peace and global warming. Or maybe I should buy a lottery ticket. Either way, it’s all very happy-making!

I’m also the author spotlighted today on Jamie Lynn Miller’s Friday Feature! My blog post is on the True Secrets of Successful Writers–you should check it out! It might not be what you think! πŸ™‚

Spitfire in the airAnd the icing on my very large cake is that 3chicksafterdark reviewed The Boys of Summer on their site today–I got stilettos! Comments left on the review post will enter you to win an e-copy of The Boys of Summer, so head on over and drop me a line or two. Be sure to leave your email address in the comments there so we can find you if you’re the winner!

So, what has you grinning from ear to ear this weekend?Β  Or is it just the fact that it’s the weekend? πŸ™‚

  1. 1) Carlos running up and greeting me at the door for the first time today.
    2) Getting my tax return and being able to pay cash for 4 new tires today.
    3) Finding out an author I love has a contract for 2 new books based on a story I love.

Congrats. I’ve been checking Dreamspinner’s upcoming list almost daily to see if you were there. I have no idea how long getting published takes, but I knew you had sent in a manuscript, and were waiting to hear back.

    • Oh, yay! I’m glad to hear Carlos is feeling better–and isn’t it a good feeling to get that tax return when you need it most?

You have me blushing here–but I can tell you that the Not Quite Shakespeare Anthology is set for a June release, and Walk a Mile has been given a tentative release date for sometime in Sept-Oct. 2014. Of course, that means I’d better get my act in gear and write the sequel to *that* one so no one has to wait as long as they did after Unspeakable Words was released! πŸ™‚

  2. HURRAY!!! I’m SOOOO happy for you!!! And for myself πŸ™‚ LOVED loved loved Unspeakable Words! Sorry I’m a little late to the party, Goodreads keeps sending me the notification for new posts a few days late πŸ™ Hope you had a wonderful weekend! I’ll add Walk a Mile to my excel spreadsheet with anticipated “coming soon” books πŸ™‚

    • Aw, thank you! That is so nice of you to say–and has me grinning, too! Hey, it’s never too late when you chime in with a comment like this! πŸ™‚ What a nice way to finish off a roughish day at work! I’m already working on the next in the series (though not as far enough along as I should be) so I promise you won’t have to wait *years* for that one!
